lifelong learners are bound by clear covenants;
and “Learning to Do” and
“Learning to Be”
are even more important than
“Learning to Know.”
With its self-directed philosophy, coupled with an emphasis on Socratic learning and discussion, we feel that Acton Academy will equip our children with unique and powerful advantages in a world where automation and A.I. will require new kinds of development and skills.
Over the past two months, I have seen a great deal of growth in my child. He has become more self-motivated, his communication and social skills are improving every day. He is thinking deeper and beginning to care about things that he has had little regard for in the past. But my favorite thing is his newfound sense of belonging and significance at Acton.
Acton has lit a fire under my son; his personality and interests are blooming left and right since her started here!
Watching them work as a team and learning to accept and adapt to eachother different personalities!

'School' is no longer a bad word! They love going every single day!
My son's education is now being driven by him instead of being led by a teacher.
I love the personal accountability at Acton Academy as well as a good balance between focused core subject time and interactive peer time. I love how children learn to solve problems both independently and in a group. I also love the high level of freedom they have as well as the balanced accountability/consequences. I am still amazed that I was able to find a model that could would allow all four of our very unique children to thrive and get out of it what they need for their own personal growth.
